Hi, I’m Anna, and this is By Anahid.
Many people are surprised that I love to travel, considering that I am almost always crocheting. What they don’t see is that it was my travels that led me here in the first place.
I have always been the backpack kind of person. Traveling with a 35 liter backpack naturally pushed me into a minimalist way of living. It taught me to truly appreciate my clothes, to take care of them, and to choose them with intention. That is when I learned the importance of quality over quantity.
During my travels, I developed a small ritual. In every country I visited, I brought home one meaningful piece from a local maker, something that carried the spirit of the place with it. For example handmade skirt from an 80 year old grandmother in Thailand, my first 100% cotton blouse in Turkey, a cashmere blanket from India or even earrings from Brazil, and in Bali, my very first crochet top.
That was the moment I fell in love.
When I returned home months later, the first thing I did was buy a crochet hook. What started as curiosity slowly became a practice of patience, presence, and care. Crocheting taught me to slow down, to value the process as much as the result, and to understand how deeply we can connect to the things we create with our own hands.
ByAnahid grew from this way of thinking. It is rooted in mindful creation, slow fashion, and pieces made with intention. It is about reconnecting with what we wear and appreciating the time, love, and craftsmanship behind it. Choosing less, but choosing better.
